DAVID JOYCE
SINGER-SONGWRITER, GUITAR

David Joyce is an instinctual songwriter that unites emotions with melodies to an acoustic canvas. His lyrics are purposely shaped to allow each listener the opportunity to interpret the song in a manner they can bind to.

David grew up and developed his talents in the captivating Kawartha Lakes. He is an accomplished Member of the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), and a music producer for other recording artists. David has also accumulated credits for audio and video production in movies, commercials and theatre.

David was a contender in the 2018 CBC Searchlight Competition and we are thrilled to showcase this new emerging musical talent in the Kawartha Lakes at our AGM & Community Celebration.

<--- Listen to his single "Stay Awake".

DENNIS PENDRITH
STAND-UP BASS

Dennis has been a resident in Lindsey for over 23 years and has become one of Canada's most in-demand Studio players.  Dennis has recorded and toured with Bruce Cockburn, Raffi, Gordon Lightfoot and  Stuart Mclean's Vinyl Cafe.

Growing up with his dad's favourite music of Fats Waller and Duke Ellington, Dennis  'loves' playing music in all genres and feels lucky to have found a career that offers him so much fun!  Dennis celebrates the every influence and mentor to have crossed his path over his career feeling there is always something new to be learned no matter how seasoned one becomes.

In the beginning- at the tender age of 9, Dennis explored the trumpet but soon shifted to Bass Guitar at the suggestion of his music teacher in Junior High.  These humble beginnings led to eventually performing before 150,000 people on Parliament Hill for Canada Day!

Quote:   I can't think of anything better than the satisfaction I have from entertaining people, learning new musical tricks and tips and,  simply- having so much fun while doing so!

MIKE GRAHAM
GUITAR

Joining up with Dennis on March 29, Mike Graham will be 'in the pocket' strumming his guitar.  Now an accomplished  lover and player  of Jazz music, Mike comes from a first love of good old Rock and Roll bending the strings in the style of Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix.

Mike's first instrument was an accordion... a fairly heavy instrument for a kid to carry up to a second floor Music lesson every week... By grade 6,  Mike realized a guitar was much lighter and easier to haul around and his career was launched!   With the enthusiasm of youth,  Mike thought playing music was the best way to meet girls and was thrilled that his first out of the basement gig - was to have his band play a Graduation Dance at the 'big' high school next door.  He was himself- in grade 8 at the time!

Gaining some official 'chops'  while at Humber College, Mike has continued to perform and record in addition to teaching music at Lakefield College.

Quote:  When I feel the magic in myself- I know I am in the right spot!
