Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Show - A Saturday Night Special Featuring Southern Fried

Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Show at the Academy Theatre in Lindsay. Show starts at 8 pm.

“All the hits from Lynyrd Skynyrd with the opening 1st set tributing The Allman Brothers. 2 sets in total.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is without a doubt one of the most iconic rock bands to emerge from the US and is best known for having popularized around the world the Southern rock music genre during the 1970s. The band gained worldwide recognition for its live performances with signature songs like "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Free Bird". But at the peak of their success, lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backup singer Cassie Gaines died in a highly publicised airplane crash in 1977 putting an abrupt end to the 1970s era of the band. Due to popular demand, the surviving members re-formed in 1987 for a reunion tour with Ronnie's younger brother, Johnny Van Zant, on lead vocals.”
