The Sweet Power of the Butter Tart is Getting Behind the Arts.

In 2017, Kawarthas Northumberland Butter Tart Tour  launched the successful Canadiana Collection of speciality Butter Tarts through the Kawarthas. The Butter Tart Tour is the largest tour of its kind in Ontario, and in 2017 reached an online audience of over 250,000.
For 2018, we are building on this concept by featuring the arts community, allowing us to highlight local studio tours, art related festivals and events, and artists and artisans alike.

Participating in the “Arts ‘n Tarts” project will have many benefits for the community. Please come on January 30th at 2 pm at the Days Inn and chat "Arts 'n Tarts" with us, meet others in the art community, learn about our ideas for 2018 and how you can participate and benefit.

Kawartha Lakes Food Source (KLFS) is holding its first-ever art competition for their special occasion fundraising cards.

The 2018 Special Occasion Card Art Competition is open to all non-professional artists who are residents of the City of Kawartha Lakes. Creative individuals of all ages are encouraged to participate and all artwork submitted must be original artwork created by the contestant. Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork include paintings of oil, acrylics or watercolours, or drawings using coloured pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels or charcoal. Original photographs are also welcome as submissions.
