Born and raised in the Fenelon Falls area Lisa trained in writing for children by correspondence with The Institute of Children’s Literature in Connecticut. Her first article appeared in the June/July 1999 issue of Boy’s Quest magazine of Bluffton Ohio. Since then, her writing has appeared in such children’s publications as Fun for Kidz, Horse Power and Countdown magazine in Australia. Online publications include Imagination Cafe, Guardian Angel Kids and Kid’s Imagination Train. Sales of reprint rights include SIRS Mandarin Inc. for a CD-ROM program used by libraries and Harcourt Assessment, Inc for their Delaware Student Testing program. In 2015, she licensed her first article to Schoolwide Publishing's online digital library.

After several years competing in the Omemee and District Historical Society’s writing contests Lisa produced a collection of her short stories, entitled “Ghosts, Hauntings and Stories of Old”, available online. Her ghost story Connections, set at the museum where she worked as Operations Supervisor, earned a place in Red Tuque Publishing’s Canadian Tales of the Fantastic.

Writers often turn to photography to create the supporting images needed for their written works and Lisa is no exception. Honing her skills with a camera Lisa has participated in local photography competitions as well as having work sold through the Kawartha Art Gallery. A cat lover at heart her photographs have appeared in Cat Nap Desk Calendars by Sellers Publishing Inc. as well as the 2015 Bad Cat Desk Calendar and Wall Calendar by Workman Publishing Co.
