What is the Arts and Heritage Trail?
Discover the rich heritage and diverse artistic talent in Kawartha Lakes on the Arts and Heritage Trail. Come and explore the lesser-known places and local legends, and visit our galleries, artisan studios and craft shops. Take in a performance or live entertainment, listen to the stories that shape our communities, and reflect on the timeless beauty of the natural landscape. Immerse yourself in cultural encounters and learning experiences that make any visit unforgettable.
The Arts & Heritage Trail combines the creativity and resources of the City of Kawartha Lakes, the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council, and the Kawartha Lakes Heritage Network. It is not a physical trail, but a collection of cultural destinations that have been identified as having incredible value to visitors, and offer unforgettable and enriching experiences. These destinations reflect the fabric of the Kawartha Lakes, and the Trail is a tool to showcase and support our vibrant culture. Sites can be valuable for a number of reasons. The current membership includes performance arts venues, studios, shops, galleries, museums, natural heritage landscapes, cultural centres, and even within those terms, we are diverse and challenging the accepted norms.
Visit the City of Kawartha Lakes website at www.artsandheritagetrail.com for site-specific information, or follow the Trail on Instagram @klartsandheritagetrail.
