Bobcaygeon, September 10, 2019 - Globus Theatre announces a packed Fall Season of comedy, mystery, and celebration! The season will run from September 27th - December 31st and includes A Weekend of Comedy this month as well as local favourites such as a festive murder mystery, annual panto, and New Years Eve bash to look forward to.
Globus Theatre loves a good laugh and will start the Fall Season off with A Weekend of Comedy! Award winning and internationally renowned sketch comedy group, The Lusty Mannequins will tour to Bobcaygeon on September 27th. The Lusty Mannequins are Ashley Comeau, Alastair Forbes, Karen Parker, and Connor Thompson - All alumni of the Second City Mainstage in Toronto and most recently winners with the ‘Best of the Fest’ from the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival. To share the Opry’s history is to share the story of Country Music. Globus Theatre is overjoyed to have Leisa Way’s Opry Gold in it’s 16th professional summer season! What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today a live entertainment phenomenon. The Grand Ole Opry showcases a mix of country legends and the contemporary chart-toppers who have followed in their footsteps. The Great Kooshog Lake Hollis McCauley Fishing Derby brings in a professional cast of actors who have all made Globus Theatre audiences laugh before and runs from July 17th - July 27th at the Lakeview Arts Barn in Bobcaygeon. Globus Theatre is getting ready for its second professional production of the summer season and is delighted to share award winning playwright, John Spurway’s The Numbers Game with the Kawartha Lakes audience. This romantic comedy about first crushes, memories of high school and playing the odds features veteran actress from Due South, Ramona Milano and Globus Theatre returnee, Kevin Sepaul and is directed by Artistic Producer, James Barrett. Globus Theatre is thrilled to welcome Monique Renaud as the company’s first ever General Manager. Monique is a graduate of the University of Windsor’s Drama in Education and Community Program as well as the BFA Acting Program. She was previously the Public Relations Manager at Playwrights Guild of Canada and before that worked as a producer for independent theatres in Toronto. Read More
