Creating a Website with Wordpress

Whether it's a gallery looking for your contact information or a client wanting to see your latest artwork, your website is one of the best ways for them to get to know you and your practice. This introduction to the features of Wordpress will look at how to use one of the most popular website management tools to create and edit a customized website. Participants will also learn about website hosting services to help them easily get their websites online.

Steve BlairProject Lead
Steve has been teaching coding, digital skills, and new media workshops for learners ages 5-95 through various non-profits since 2006. He is particularly passionate about learning new ways to combine art and technology to create weird and wonderful things. When he's not out with his dogs exploring the trails around Peterborough, he's likely watching documentaries, working on his breadboard computer project, or re-reading The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Mary McDonaldProject Facilitator
Mary is an educator, writer and media artist who loves to collaborate. She creates poetry films and Augmented Reality art installations. Mary gets really excited about participatory media/digital arts projects and believes in the potential for creative technologies to inspire individuals and connect communities. Her most recent project includes a geolocative sound collage composed of fragments from WWI letters. Mary has a B.Ed, specializing in Special Education and Language Literacy and has recently completed her Master’s of Educational Technology degree through UBC. Mary loves traveling to meet new people, learn about different ways of being, and experiencing new landscapes.
