The Old Mill

CA$75.00

In 1827 The Purdy Family built a dam on the Scugog River at the present site in Lindsay. From there they built a sawmill and in 1830 a Grist Mill was constructed. A small village grew up around the Mills and it was known as the Purdy Mills. Unfortunately this treasure was destroyed by fire on July 5, 1861. Sadly, another fire happened on May 9, 2012 at The Old Mill. People from the Town of Lindsay have always enjoyed this treasure, including the Park and scenery as you can see by my joy of the painting.
