Lesley Drummond

Lesley Drummond is an artist, educator and curator who has been actively involved in the Kawartha Lakes Arts Community since 1985. She has been Director of the Kawartha Arts Network (a local artists’ co-operative) since 2010 and currently sits on the KLAC Board of Directors.

Before coming to the Kawarthas, Lesley gathered valuable experience working at several well-known galleries in Toronto which included Gallery Moos, the Ydessa Gallery and the Harbourfront Art Gallery. Until her retirement in June, 2015, she was Head of Visual Art and Media Studies at I.E. Weldon S.S., ran the Visual Arts portion of the Trillium Lakelands Arts Camp for ten years, and spent time as Artist in Residence at three Ontario provincial parks.

Lesley’s most popular choice of media include acrylics, mixed media collage, photo transfers, chalk pastels and water-soluble black marker. Her subject matter tends towards all things dealing with the exploration of structure and spacial exploration – mostly architectural structures, landscapes and layered surfaces – and she creates personal interpretations of imagery from her travel photography.
