The Kawartha Lakes Arts Council (KLAC), the local Community Arts Council for the City of Kawartha Lakes, is proud to announce the 2024 Made in Kawartha Lakes Show + Sale. The weekend event takes place May 25 + 26, 2024 at the beautiful Kawartha Settlers Village (85 Dunn Street, Bobcaygeon), 10am-4pm each day.

Nestled amidst the breathtaking scenery of Kawartha Settlers' Village, this event reflects the rich creative spirit of Kawartha Lakes. Immerse yourself in the talents of 50 local artists and artisans, showcasing their finest works across a myriad of mediums. From exquisite paintings to handcrafted pottery, there's something to captivate every artistic soul.

Indulge your taste buds with delectable treats from the The Lindsay Brewing Company (beer, wine, and cold drinks) K-Dawgs (hamburgers and hot dogs), Mochi's Bakery (baked goods), and TheBack40 (BBQ/smoker and hot sauces), ensuring a feast for all the senses. We’re also delighted to have live music from Doug Rice (Saturday 10am-11:30am), Graeme Morrison (Sunday 10am-11:30am), North Country Express (both afternoons)!

With entertainment and activities for the whole family, it's a weekend of fun and exploration for everyone to enjoy. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: FRIDAY, APRIL 26, 2024

Applications are still being accepted for our Made in Kawartha Lakes juried show and sale! Apply today for your chance to be a part of this exciting event.

Please ensure you read through the following before applying:

  • Secure a prime spot at this juried event by promptly submitting your completed application to enjoy early access. The "first come, first served" rule ensures your participation is prioritized. After completing the application process, you will receive a receipt, and our esteemed jury will evaluate new participants. Booth allocation details will be communicated upon acceptance.

  • We ask that you provide three high-resolution digital images showcasing examples of your work, complete with titles, sizes, mediums, and corresponding prices clearly labeled for promotional purposes on social media. Additionally, include a brief artist bio and your filled-out application form in an email to kawarthalakesartscouncil@gmail.com.

    *Please note that only original pieces created by the applicant will be considered for approval.

  • To secure your space, please include payment with your application form, either via e-transfer to kawarthalakesartscouncil@gmail.com or by sending a cheque to our mailing address (P.O. Box 234, Lindsay, Ontario, K9V 4S1). When submitting an e-transfer, include the note "for MIKL."

    All entries will undergo a juried selection process, and registration fees will be refunded to applicants who are not successful.

  • Enrolling in a KLAC membership grants you a $50 discount on the entrance fee for the Made in Kawartha Lakes event. Additionally, becoming a KLAC memhere.ber provides year-round publicity and various other membership benefits. Explore more about the advantages of membership here.

Nestled against the scenic backdrop of Kawartha Settlers' Village, this event beckons you to immerse yourself in the village's allure while connecting with local artists. Originally a thriving family farm, Kawartha Settlers’ Village now boasts a captivating collection of over 20 historic homes and buildings, and is a testament to preserving the rich history and culture of the Bobcaygeon area.

Find Kawartha Settlers’ Village at 85 Dunn St, right off Highway 36. Visitor parking is just across from the main gate, with overflow parking nearby if it gets busy.

 

Admission is by donation, and while some vendors accept cards, cash makes for a smoother shopping experience.
