Kawartha Lakes Arts Council Releases First Greeting Card Collection

A collection of five member works is featured on the first-ever greeting card collection produced by the Kawartha Lakes Arts Council (KLAC).

As the result of a juried selection of member submissions, the collection is for sale on the KLAC Marketplace as a fundraiser for the arts council’s operations. The five chosen images represent a variety of media. The following were chosen from 19 submissions:

“Havana Heat” by Lesley Drummond (acrylic and drywall compound on canvas)

“Adrift on a Current ”, Rhonda Laursen (oil on panel)

“Scarlet Ribbon” by Alex Park (digital photography)

“Dragon Protector” by Diane Reesor (fabric art)

“Welcome to the Lake” by Karen Richardson (watercolour)

In recognition of their winning entry, each artist was asked to invite a new artist member to the arts council to receive a free 2021 membership.

“Congratulations to the KLAC members whose work is being featured in our first collection,” says Ray Marshall, Chair of KLAC.  “The response to our call for submissions was extremely positive and we look forward to future collections as a unique way to promote members while supporting the work of the Arts Council.”

The cards are printed on high quality card stock and are blank inside.  They’re sold in a collection of five, featuring one of each card.
